dc.description.abstractA new centrifuge facility has recently been established at the Portuguese National Laboratory for Civil Engineering (LNEC). The centrifuge is an Acutronic model 661 and it has a capacity of 40 g-tonnes. The platform radius is 1.8 m. The paper describes the development of the facility, including general features of the housing, centrifuge test equipment and associated electrical and mechanical systems.pt_BR
